It’s nice to hear a young professional’s perspective on the tenor of small cities: the neighborliness, the niceness, the democracy in action even if one doesn’t necessarily always agree with a voter determined outcome. With such turmoil and tumult in our national elections this year/these months, the interview reminds me that community and cooperation still matters to many.

Thanks Amy. I wonder if being in a small town community engenders political relations reflective of proximity? In other words, you have to deal with your neighbors everyday, so you’d better be civil and respectful while simultaneously having a thick skin?
